Timeless design was the directive for this partial gut renovation of an Upper East Side two-bedroom, two-bath. After much of the property was stripped down, it was reinvigorated with a new Shaker-style kitchen with lava stone countertops and a stainless steel cooking area, refinished floors, and hand-brush-finished wood millwork. Freshly plastered, working original fireplaces and updated bathrooms preserved the classic look. An HVAC upgrade added contemporary comfort.
